Kavanagh Takes Tour Round One at Hamilton
The Super Rods took to Hamilton’s Western Speedway last Saturday night to contest round one of the 2022 Super Rod Tour. It was Jason Kavanagh who continued his winning ways to take the win ahead of Dane Court and Luke Cole.
In the first heat of the night saw Billy Grist take a flag to flag win ahead of Court and Stan Marco Jnr. Heat two saw Jamie May take the early lead with Kavanagh applying pressure, with May washing high giving Kavanagh his opening and seizing the lead with May holding for second and Court third. Kavanagh claimed the final heat of the night ahead of Stan Marco Snr and Luke Cole.
Drivers contested a series of two lap dashes with the first pairing of the night seeing May and Marco Snr contesting for positions seven and eight, however the pair tangled as they exited turn two with both cars sustaining damage and unable to continue. The next pairing saw Paul Verhoeven challenge Cole for fifth position, with Cole winning and moving forward to challenge Court. Court held his place with the final shuffle against Kavanagh for pole position, with Kavanagh proving too strong.
