May Wins At Moama
The Super Rods travelled to Moama’s Heartland Raceway over the March long weekend for round four of the Super Rod Tour. It was Hopper’s Crossings Jamie May who claimed the win ahead of Bannockburn’s Stan Marco Jnr and Hamilton’s Dane Court.
In the first heat of the night, it was Jason Kavanagh who claimed a green to checker win ahead of Stan Marco Jnr and Paul Verhoeven. Shaun Walsh secured the win in the second heat when he led all the way then came May and Dane Court. The final heat of the night saw Jacob Pitcher with a flag to flag win with court second and May third.
The line up for the final saw Pitcher and Walsh making up the front row, they were followed by Court, May, Kavanagh, Marco Jnr, Verhoeven, Rod Smith, George Woolstencroft, Howard Stansfield and Stacey Jacko.
With 25 laps on the board, it was Pitcher who took to the lead ahead of Walsh, Court and Kavanagh. Pitcher continued to set the pace with May applying heavy pressure on the youngster, in lap 23 the pair made contact. At this point officials declared the race with May awarded the win ahead of Marco Jnr and Court, then came Kavanagh, Stansfield Verhoeven, Smith and Pitcher.
