Laang Win For Gange
Last Saturday night saw the Super Rods in action at Laang Speedway where it was Colac’s Neville Gange who claimed victory when he led home Jamie May and Stan Marco Jnr.
In the first heat it was Marco Jnr who led the race in its entirety to take the win ahead of Jamie May and Gange. Jamie May went flag to flag in heat two when he led home Gange with George Woolstencroft rounding out the three. Heat three saw Gange with an all the ways win ahead of Marco Jnr and Jamie May.
The grid for the final saw Gange and May making up the front row, followed by Marco Jnr, Jason May behind the wheel of the Michael Coad owned car, Woolstencroft, David Duynhoven, Daniel Hookway and Jason Poustie. With Bob Wilson unable to take to the final after hitting the wall in heat one and sustaining substantial damage.
It was Gange who got the best of the starts and led the way from Jamie May, Marco Jnr and Jason May. Gange continued to set the pace while Jamie May led the charge with Marco Jnr, Jamie May, Woolstencroft and Hookway all putting on some tight racing. Gange went on to collect the checker having with Jamie May home in second and Marco Jnr third, they were followed by Hookway, Jason May and Woolstencroft.
The Super Rods will be in action next Saturday 12th of February at Heytesbury Stockfeed’s Simpson Speedway for the running of the prestigious Trevor Podger Memorial.
