Kavanagh Claims Mildura
The Super Rods travelled to Mildura’s B & S Earthworks Timmis Speedway on Sunday the 12th of March on the long weekend. It was Jason Kavanagh who claimed the win ahead of Dane Court and Paul Verhoeven.
In the first heat of the night, it was Court who secured a green to checker win ahead of Verhoeven and Kavanagh. Court went back to back in the next heat when he led home Kavanagh and Verhoeven. The final heat of the night saw Kavanagh take an all the ways win ahead of Court and Verhoeven.
The line up for the final saw Court starting from pole with Kavanagh on his outer, they were followed by Verhoeven and George Woolstencroft, then came Stacey Jacko and Howard Stansfield.
With 15 laps on the board, it was Kavanagh on the highline who made the best of the starts led away from Court and Verhoeven. In lap seven the race came to a caution when the car of Jacko spun seeing the field regrouped.
It was again Kavanagh who led the way with Court searching for a way to run down the leader, the pair ran the highline for a number of laps with Court applying pressure to Kavanagh, Court seized the lead momentarily with two laps remaining only to have Kavanagh resume the lead on the next turn. The pair continued to duel until the final checker dropped where it was Kavanagh who secured the victory ahead of Court and Verhoeven, they were followed by Stansfield, Woolstencroft and Jacko.
