Borderline Win For Howard
Saturday 31st of March saw the Super Rods travel to Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway where it was Andrew Howard who took a green to checker the win ahead of Michael Coad and Quentin Tanner.
The first heat of the night saw Adrian Rieck make the most of his front row starting position to take a green to checker win ahead of Ewan McKenzie and Howard Stansfield. In the second heat it was Coad who went flag to flag when he led home Howard and Stansfield. The final heat of the night saw Tanner the victor ahead of Howard and David Cook.
With the heats completed the final line up saw Howard and Rieck making up the front row, they were followed by Tanner, Coad, Stansfield, McKenzie, Cook, Jason Kavanagh, Troy Gleeson, Sally Woolstencroft and David Duynhoven.
From the Green it was Howard who made the best of the starts leading away from Rieck, Coad, Tanner and McKenzie, in the second lap McKenzie was able to elevate himself into third taking the highline around Tanner and Rieck.
With the lead three cars showing some close racing, with Tanner also joining the fray. Coad moved into second in the ninth lap, with the lead cars encountering lapped traffic in lap thirteen Tanner was able to use the highline to his advantage and maneuverer himself into third. Howard went on to collect the chequer with Coad unable to run down the leader, with Tanner third ahead of McKenzie, Gleeson, Stansfield, Kavanagh, Cook, Woolstencroft, Rieck and Duynhoven.
