Avalon Win For Howard

Super Rods were in action last weekend at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway where it was Andrew Howard who greeted the checker first ahead of Ewan McKenzie and Howard Stansfield.


In the first heat of the night it was a flag to flag win for Howard when he led home Stansfield and McKenzie. McKenzie secured the win in the second heat when he led home Howard and Sally Woolstencroft.


The final line up saw Howard starting from position one with McKenzie on his outside, they were followed by Stansfield, Woolstencroft, Neville Gange, Darryl Nelson, Peter Duynhoven and Steve Robertson.


In the nonstop final it was Howard made the best of the starts leading away from McKenzie, Stansfield and Gange. Howard maintained his lead for the races entirety before collecting the chequered flag ahead of McKenzie, Stansfield, Gange, Nelson, Duynhoven, Robertson and Woolstencroft.


The Super Rod’s next meeting will be on Good Friday at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway where they will compete at night one of the Easter Trail, followed by Saturday 31st March at Mt Gambier’s Borderline Speedway and Premier Speedway on Sunday 1st of April.
